SEO Contests or Link Bait?
For a long time, there are lots of SEO competitions and contests that were happening around the world, to match two unpopular words and get listed on top of the organic search results. Recent one being “cheeni climate” and it started from Schnitzelmitkartoffelsalat, Nigritude ultramarine, seraphim proudleduck, “the four required words”, precharge projectnet and then “Globalwarming Awareness2007″

The prizes that are awarded sometimes encourage the SEO professionals in many places, and the good thing is to test the ability of an SEO with white hat strategies to achieve the same. But my question or concern is that, the contests are arranged by companies that want the people to sign up (its a good strategy to promote their own website), refer them and they get it done for around $100. Now that is another way of Search engine marketing and in a way link baiting.
Contests are good, Link bait is fine - but instead of unpopular keywords, why not go for the real deal? Keywords such as “Improve business”, “Increase sales”, “Wedding ring”, “Patio Furniture” and just for the word “SEO” itself? - Now that will be some challenge and meaningful for the time taken by the SEO Experts out there. Do you agree?
