Hi,
I would very much appreciate a few pointers on what I am doing wrong. I just can’t move away from PR 0.

Thanks for the query. And I am sorry for getting to it quite late.

1. Please make sure your url is submitted to various search engines and not alone google. Also add sitemap.xml and keep updating them whenever you create a new post.
If you search for “Marko - Photo Travel Blogging” then your site will be indexed, this is because there are few sites that had referred your url with this anchor text. To see what I am talking you can do link:http://photo-blogging.blogspot.com in google’s blog search.

2. My other suggestion would be get a domain name for yourself, rather than part of someother sites and being a subdomain. Registering a domain is easy and hosting nowadays is affordable too. The main advantage is that you can maintain your site effectively with more control and also in future if the site who is providing free domains runs out of business, all your efforts in getting indexed all these days and anything else (business/refers/fans) will get ruined.

3. Other than that, you can follow my other posts on tips and suggestions to improve your site in general. Also for your hobby/profession if you haven’t already done that you can register in sites like http://www.flickr.com. Participating more in your interest related community sites will get you lots of referrals and pointers towards your main site.
